Out On Patrol

Naruto Uzumaki, clad in his ANBU Root Captain armor and fox mask, was running from rooftop to rooftop under the Hidden Camouflage Technique. He was currently looking out for any signs of trouble.

Temari stood at the gates of the village, showing the jonin on patrol her permit.
"Here, now let me in,"

Naruto noticed the commotion at the gates and went to go see the problem. "What's the problem here?" he asked them. His fox mask hid his face but his voice made it obvious to Temari that this ANBU Root Captain was younger then her.

"The girl is from the Sand,"
One started.

"So we needed to check for a permit,"
The other finished.

Temari snorted.
"Which i have, so can you let me in now?"

"You saw her permit, now let her in. I'll be watching her so if she tries anything, she'll be dead before she'll have time to blink" he said, his voice making him sound like a cold, emotionless drone.

"Gee i feel SO safe.."
Temari muttered as she walked past them. The jonin looked to Naruto and nodded before returning to their posts.

Naruto then turned towards Temari and started following her at a close distance. He figured that if she knew he was going to follow her he might as well make it obvious.

She rolled her eyes, obviously hating being tailed like this. She went through the town until she reached the Hokages office. She looked at Naruto over her shoulder and held up a scoll.
"Letter from Lord Kazekage,"

He nodded his head silently in understanding but he refused to move from that spot.

The door opened and she handed the scroll to one of the Hokages bodyguards. When the door closed, she sighed.
"Great, now what to do for a whole day? Suna isnt expecting me back till the evening,"

"I suggest either going to a restaurant or relaxing at the Hot Springs" he said emotionlessly.

"I havent eaten since yesterday...Restaraunts it is,"
She said as she turned on her heel and started heading towards Konoha's main street.

He silently followed after her, his cold, sapphire blue eyes seeming to stare straight into her soul as he carefully watched her movements.

She found a small sushi restaraunt and sat down at the counter, handing the chef a sufficient ammount of money.

Naruto sat next to her silently, ordering some sushi for himself.

She silently grabbed a pair of chopsticks and gratefully ate a piece of the sushi. His prescence didnt seem to bother her. She was used to this sort of attitude with Gaara.

He kept his eye on her as he detached the lower half of his fox mask, revealing tanned skin. He had three whiskers on each cheek. He quietly his sushi, not once letting his guard down.

She was aware of his staring, but seemed perfectly at ease. If she wasn't planning on doing anything that would land her in trouble, why worry? She continued to eat, actually pretty relaxed despite Narutos sharp gaze.

There was a fly buzzing around Naruto's head and Naruto's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. He reacted quickly by stabbing the fly with one of the chop sticks into the counter.

She raised her eyebrow, mildly impressed by his feat but of course she would never admit to it. She shook it off and reached across to get some more sushi to fill her empty plate.

He then wiped the chopstick off with his leather pants and continued eating, not once looking away from Temari.

She continued to eat, now used to his stare. Once though, and once only, she looked across to meet his gaze. Not in a challenging way, just trying to determine what he was thinking.

He stared back at her with a dead, emotionless glare that almost seemed to be waiting for her to do something wrong.

She would've rolled her eyes but she knew better. Finally satisfied with her meal, she pushed the plate away and wiped her mouth with the napkin.

He wiped his face with a napkin and reattached the lower half of his fox mask, paying the appropriate amount of money onto the counter.
